Patanjali ipl as vivo ipl, Netflix Hindi Interface, Realme C12 with G35 india launch, Redmi K30 Ultra launch on 11 Aug
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev is considering bidding for the Indian Premier League (IPL) title sponsorship slot vacated by Chinese smartphone maker Vivo.
“We are considering the IPL title sponsorship for this year, since we want to give the Patanjali brand a global marketing platform,” Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala confirmed to ET, adding Patanjali is considering making a proposal to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Market watchers said while Patanjali comes with the rub-off of being a staunch nationalistic brand replacing a Chinese one, it lacks the star power of a multinational or a heavily-invested unicorn brand.
“Patanjali as a title sponsor for IPL will do more for Patanjali than for IPL. While the caste hierarchy among brands could play out, Patanjali owning the title sponsorship would be contextual from a nationalist perspective, since there is an enormous anti-China sentiment prevailing in the country,” said brand strategist Harish Bijoor.
Despite being played out of the country and possibly to empty stadiums, the IPL remains a high-visibility property that media buying firms say is likely to mark the return of big numbers in advertising. While BCCI is scrambling to find a new sponsor after Vivo’s sudden exit at short notice, several names including Jio, Amazon, the Tata group, Dream11, Adani group and education start-up Byjus have been doing the rounds as potential candidates for the IPL sponsorship title.
Netflix has launched its User Interface (UI) in Hindi for those who prefer the language. The aim behind the new UI is to help users easily "discover, access and enjoy their favourite Indian and international films and series," as Netflix puts it.
This enables Netflix members who prefer Hindi language to access the entire OTT platform in Hindi -- from the sign up to search rows, collections, and payment. The Hindi user interface is available across all devices on mobile, TV, and web.Users who wish to switch to the Hindi UI can do so by going to Manage Profiles > Language on any device.Netflix allows up to five members on a single account. All five members can have a language of their preference. The Hindi UI will also be available to users outside of India.
Monika Shergill, VP-Content, Netflix India, in a statement said, "Delivering a great Netflix experience is as important to us as creating great content. We believe the new user interface will make Netflix even more accessible and better suit members who prefer Hindi."
It is interesting to note that even though Netflix was launched in India in 2016, the UI language availability in Hindi came around in 2020. It had expanded its UI to over 20 languages including Arabic, Korean, Spanish, Turkish etc over the years.
According to the listing on the Geekbench 5 benchmarking website, the Realme C12 will be powered by the same entry-level MediaTek Helio G35 processor that also runs on C11 and C15. This will mean the refreshed C-series will entirely rock the Helio G35 processor, which we found was only so much powerful and on par with the Helio P35. The Geekbench scores are 165 for single-core and 972 for multi-core. The listing has also revealed the Realme C12 will pack 3GB of RAM and run Android 10. There will, of course, be the Realme UI skin on top of the Android 10 OS. We can also expect there will be at least one more RAM model since the Realme C15 and C11 both had two variants in the Indonesian market.
While the Realme C12 was only spotted on certification websites of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China previously, it has now been listed for certification on India's Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. The model number RMX2189, which belongs to Realme C12, can now be spotted on the BIS website, meaning it is coming to the Indian market soon.

The phone will also get a 64 MP primary rear-facing camera.
This version of the K30 Ultra is thought to be the first in the Redmi K30 series to be paired with a MediaTek SoC. According to leaked information on TENAA, the Redmi K30 Ultra will be powered by the Dimensity 1000+ and a pair it with either 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB of RAM. Up to 512GB of storage will be on board too, as will a 4,500mAh battery that is capable of 33W fast charging.Apart from these, there will be a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen on the device with support for 120Hz refresh rate.
